Veteran highlife artiste, Amandzeba Nat Brew, has disclosed he was offered a deputy ministerial role by the late President John Atta-Mills.

The ‘Wogbejeke’ singer indicated that he turned down the offer to serve as a Deputy Minister of Chieftaincy and Culture for the love of his craft.

Speaking on Citi FM’s traffic avenue, Amandzeba said: “Just when Atta Mills came to office, they wanted me to become the Deputy Minister of Culture. I told them hell no,”

“You are a minister, you are a very good artiste. Programmes come from outside. They want somebody to go and perform and everybody thinks I am the right person to go – do you know the tongues that would lash at me?” he added

Amanzeba indicated that he did not want his role as a minister to conflict his music career.
