Big Brother Naija Lockdown season 5 housemate, Rebecca Nengi Hampson appears to have finally come clean on the controversy surrounding her actual age insisting she rather lied about her age to get into her first beauty contest.
Nengi has been accused of lying about her age to enter the house. The entrepreneur who hails from Bayelsa State, was a former model and MBGN Top 5 contestant. While stating her age on July 19, 2020, she mentioned she is 22 years old, but in 2017, as a contestant on the Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria, MBGN Beauty pageant, Nengi stated she was 23.
This kicked a storm on social media as Nigerians and followers of the reality show are now wondering if she was aging in reverse. Read some of their reactions below:

But in a move to set the records straight Nengi clarified that the discrepancies are due to the fact that she rather lied about her age sometime back to get into a beauty pageant. In a conversation with her fellow housemates on Tuesday July 21, 2020 she said that “I was 17 but i lied that i was 18 to get into my first beauty contest”.
it is unclear if this clarification will settle matter or muddy the waters alot more. But what is clear is that, NENGI is set to have greater scrutiny and attention in the weeks to come.
