The founder and CEO of the annual 3 Music Awards, Sadiq Abdullai Abu has said the relationship between controversial dancehall artiste, Shatta Wale and players within the entertainment industry has turned sour.
Explaining how Shatta Wale swept the night with eight awards, Sadiq said Shatta Wale has massive support from the public.
Sadiq further explained that contrary to public perception that Shatta Wale won the awards based on support from the board, the ‘Gringo’ hitmaker lost votes from the academy.
Speaking on Hitz FM, the 3Music Boss said, “The public helped Shatta Wale win the awards, not the board. He (Shatta Wale) didn’t get enough votes from the Board and Academy,”
“Because Shatta Wale didn’t get enough votes from the Board and Academy, I’d planned to meet him to tell him that, he’s no more winning the hearts of industry players so should work on it. Stonebwoy has massive industry love when it comes to Board and Academy voting, he gets lots of votes but Shatta amasses more votes from the public,” he revealed.
He added that 60 percent voting right was given to the public hence the fans of the various musicians should not blame the Board and Academy for any musician that loses.
