Burna Boy’s ‘African Giant’ album nominated for Grammy

The 2020 Grammy Awards nomination list has been released and Nigerian music superstar, Burna Boy has earned a nomination.

The ‘Ye’ hitmaker has been nominated in the Best World Music Album category for his ‘African Giant’ album.

The ‘African Giant’ album features Ghanaian rapper, M.anifest who collaborated on one of the biggest songs on the album ‘Another Story.

Burna Boy’s African Giant album, a 16 track album which is his fourth studio album was released on July 26, 2019.

Nominated alongside Burna Boy is Angelique Kidjo for “Celia,” Altin Günfor “Gece,” Bokanté & Metropole Orkest Conducted By Jules Buckleyfor “What Heat,” and Nathalie Joachim With Spektral Quartet for “Fanm D’Ayiti.”

Meanwhile, Beyonce’s “Lion King: The Gift” album has also been nominated for the Best Pop Vocal Album.

The album also featured several African stars including Ghanaians Shatta Wale and Guilty Beats who produced 3 songs off the album.

The 62nd Grammy Awards will be held on January 26 at Staples Center in Los Angeles, California.
