Cardi B Becomes First Solo Woman to Win Best Rap Album at Grammys

Rapper Cardi B has made history as the first female rapper to win the best rap album category in the history of the Grammy Awards.

She won the award for her debut album, Invasion of Privacy.

Cardi’s unprecedented win makes her the first solo female rapper to win Best Rap Album at the Grammy Awards.

After a year in New York City, the Grammy Awards returned to Los Angeles and Alicia Keys, a 15-time Grammy winner, hosted the show for the first time.

The event held at Staples Centre in Los Angeles on Sunday night and had A-list celebrities in attendance.

The ceremony was dominated by female performers and presenters where Kacey Musgraves also won album of the year.

At the beginning of the show, Alicia Keys, the host, introduced “my sisters”: Lady Gaga, Jada Pinkett Smith, Michelle Obama and Jennifer Lopez.
