
President Akufo-Addo has disclosed that his government has completed works on the creative arts bill.
Speaking in Parliament during his third State of the Nation address, President Akufo-Addo assured creative art players that the passage of the Bill will lead to the establishment of the Creative Arts Fund.
“We are continuing with initiatives to improve the creative arts sector. We have worked to finalise the Creative Arts Bill, leading to the setting up of the Creative Arts Fund,” he noted.
He added, “For the first time, in 2018, Government provided support to the Creative Arts Council, and the Creative Arts Masterclass, to build capacity of Creative Arts practitioners, has also commenced”.
The Creative Arts Bill, when passed into law, will also serve as a legal instrument that will help in coordinating and regulating all the sects of the creative arts.
President Akufo-Addo further disclosed that a theatre for Eastern region is almost completed while plans are far advanced for the construction of another one in the Ashanti Region.
“The Eastern regional theatre is being completed and work is currently is ongoing towards the construction of the Kumasi Theatre,”
