Nigerian actor turned politician, Desmond Elliot was attacked by unknown thugs while on his way to his polling unit in Surulere, Lagos state to cast his ballot.
Reports suggest the Lagos State House Assembly member refused to stop when he was asked to angering one of the hoodlums who subsequently fired shots.
The reports added that immediately he was rescued, thugs shot sporadically into the air, creating an even more tense atmosphere.
Fortunately for Desmond Elliot, the bullet hit his windscreen.
On March 9, Nigerians headed to the polls to elect state and local representatives, two weeks after the presidential poll.
The 45-year-old, who stood on the ticket of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC), emerged the winner of the Surulere1 state Constituency election in Lagos State.
