Ghanaian comedian, Derrick Kobina Bonney widely known as DKB has declared the year 2020 as the year of comedy.

The Former Big Brother Africa Housemate fired a stern warning to music and movie stars as he explains that 2020 is the year comedy will be bigger in the country.

He made this statement in an interview on 3FM’s Showbuzz.

” This will be the year of comedy. The musicians and movies stars should relax because this is our year. They’ve enjoyed for sometime now so its our time now.” He asserted.

Assessing the comedy industry in the past year, DKB indicated that: “The industry has moved from 40% to almost 70% in reference to comedy. This is because there was a lot of wave about Ghana comedy in the last quatre of last year and its a god edge for me because that’s what I’ve been fighting for. Almost every end of year party had a Ghanaian comedian on unlike in the past when they had to fly a comedian from somewhere.”

He also commended Director of the Creative Arts Council and National Commission on Culture, Socrate Safo for supporting the comedy industry.
