Gospel singer, Gifty Osei has advised unmarried female showbiz personalities against adopting their husband’s name.
The ‘Aseda’ singer urged that female artistes especially gospel musicians should adopt a stage name instead of using their real names.
In a conversation with MzGee, Gifty Osei now Gifty Adorye said using a stage name will prevent any problem in the future.
“Its a major problem people haven’t realised yet especially in the gospel industry. I just want to tell them (artistes) to look for a stage name that you can maintain for years. It is not necessary to add your husband’s name to your stage name
Your duties as a wife and being a showbiz personality are two entirely different things. So my advise to upcoming female gospel artistes is that they should look for stage names.
Gifty isn’t the only gospel singer who has had to change her name after her marriage went south.
Gospel musician, Obaapa Christy also had to change her name from Christiana Love after her divorce to Pastor Love to her current name.
Gifty Osei in December 2018 tied the knot again with politician, Hopeson Adorye in a private ceremony.
