Ghanaian music duo of identical twin brothers, DopeNation have disclosed they created late dancehall singer, Ebony’s debut hit song, ‘Poison’ in the balcony of a hostel.

One half of the group, Micheal Payin Boafo said he used to record musicians in is room late at night to sway the attention from his mates.

The Political Science graduate said his began producing top Ghanaian musicians during his days at the University of Ghana.

He told MzGee on ‘The Gist’ that his mates were not surprised at his swift popularity now because they saw it coming.

” I had a studio in my room and that’s where we recorded Ebony’s poison. Ebony came late in the night with Bullet because when they come during the day, people see them and there’s a lot of attention. So we wait and let them come in between 1-3 am and we record fast and we mix

He admitted it took a lot of his time and way from his studies.

“It was eating my time. I got to learn sometimes, not all the time but I made time and with God it was possible to graduate” he explained.

The duo also revealed they have produced several hit songs for artistes including Shatta Wale, EL, Eazzy, Mr. Eazi, Pappy Kojo, among others.

‘The Gist’ with MzGee airs on the Joynews Channel on MultiTV and on DSTV 421 on Saturdays and Sundays at 8.30pm.
