Veteran Ghanaian musician, Ben Brako has described educated Ghanaians as small minded people.
The Highlife crooner explained that wealthy Ghanaians have failed to invest in the music industry because they refuse to widen their scope on the possible returns they can make.
In a conversation with MzGee on ‘The Gist’, the 67 year old music legend indicated that Nigeria has been able to expand their music industry because of investment by individuals and corporate bodies.
” Nigeria used to be known as the ‘419’ country but now its known for music.Whether they borrowed (music) from us r not is not the issue. But the moaning here is too much Let’s get the action on the road.” he explained
Asked what the problem on the stale Ghanaian music industry could be, the ‘Shame and Scandal’ record maker said: ” I think Ghanaians especially the educated ones have tended to be a bit small minded. They are afraid of losing money and investing into projects.”
He advised that Ghanaian musicians should invest more in quality projects in order to produce world class hit records.
The Gist airs on the Joynews Channel on MultiTV and on DSTV 421 on Saturdays and Sundays at 8.30pm.
