The Founder and CEO of the 3Music Awards, Sadiq Abdulai Abu has said the expectations from the general public on the award scheme has gone up a notch higher.
The award scheme which was introduced two years ago has been lauded by stakeholders as a competitive alternative to the annual Vodaphone Ghana Music Awards.
Speaking to MzGee during the launch of the Ghana Event Awards at the Mercedez Cafe inside Silver Star Tower, Airport, Sadiq indicated that he and his team have worked hard to create a noticeable property.
According to him, the team has began planning ahead of the next scheme which is 8 months away in order to meet up with the expectations of stakeholders.
” Now the expectations are higher and that informs the reason for the past few weeks which is about 8/9 months to the next events, we are having sleepless night trying to curate and bring on next year’s event,” he said
Mr. Abdulai Abu described the introduction of the Ghana Events Awards as an encouragement to push event organizers to do more.
” Its been quite hectic in the past two years being an event organizer in this part of the world. Its a different thing all together if you are in the corporate space and you’re doing a lot f corporate events. Even that comes with its own challenges. But its been quite difficult organizing events in this town given the low patronage for the corporate space so I think that this is in order.”
3 Music awards was nominated under the events of the year category at the annual awards scheme that is set to honor and celebrate indigenous Ghanaian Events and organizers.
