Ghanaian Comedian, Benson Nana Yaw Oduro Boateng widely known as Funny Face has broken his silence over a $53,000 fraud allegation.

The comic actor described the allegation as a case of a relationship gone bad.

Early last week, news went rife that the comedian had been sued by a US-based woman, Mary Ama Boansi, for allegedly duping her of $53,000.

The lady, according to reports claimed that Funny Face had collected the money from her with the promise of marrying her but failed to pay the money back after cutting ties with her.

In a first video released by the ‘Cow and Chicken’ actor, Funny face called for calm adding that the lady was bitter he had moved on with his life.

“Funny fans, relax. No need to panic. This is a pure case of a relationship gone bad. That someone has gone to sit down and thought that let me come and disgrace him.” Funny Face stated

He continued: “After over a year break up, you’re now coming back to say things. After everything, this is how you think you can attack? But the issue is in court so I’ll allow my lawyers deal with it. So funny fans, just relax.”

The two are said to have met in 2016 and fell in love.

According to the writ, some of Funny Face’s bills, involving his movie projects, were paid for by the plaintiff.

Ms Boansi is praying the Accra High court to, among other things, direct Funny Face to pay her $53,105.53 or its Ghana cedi equivalent (plus interest at bank rate) being the total sum of money she allegedly gave the comedian.
