
Grammy award winner, Fuse ODG lost his cool during a live radio interview over the debate on whether or not Shatta Wale is a nominee in this year’s Grammy awards.
The UK based Ghanaian afrobeats star flared up when he was asked to clarify the stance of Shatta Wale in this year’s Grammy Awards.
There has been an ongoing debate on social media over whether or not Shatta Wale is a Grammy nominee after Beyonce’s The Loin King: The Gift album bagged a nomination.
To end the debate, Fuse who joined MzGee during a phone in radio conversation on 3FM’s ShowBuzz was asked to make clear what Beyonce’s nomination meant for the ‘Melissa’ hitmaker.
However. the ‘Azonto’ crooner lost his cool and accused Ghanaians of attempting to discredit Shatta Wale’s nomination after blogger, Ameyaw Debrah who was in the conversation via telephone asked Fuse whether he got a plaque after an album he featured on won a Grammy last year.
” Whats the purpose of the conversation? Is it because some of our artiste have been nominated for a project that they are on? Are we trying to discredit it?” Fuse quizzed
” I feel like in Ghana, we don’t try to support anything that is positive. How is that Shatta Wale is on a Beyonce album and we are trying to discredit him. It doesn’t make any sense.” He stressed
With regards to the Best Compilation Soundtrack for Visual Media category, the Grammy award in 2020 will be given to “to the artist(s) and/or ‘in studio’ producer(s) of a majority of the tracks on the album.
“In the absence of both, award to the one or two individuals proactively responsible for the concept and musical direction of the album and for the selection of artists, songs and producers, as applicable. Award also goes to appropriately credited music supervisor(s),” according to Grammy’s Website.
