CEO and founder of the Ghana-UK based awards (GUBA), Mrs Dentaa Amoateng has said Ghanaian musicians need financial assistant.

The 36 year old argued that the only way the Ghanaian music industry can compete with their Nigerian counterparts is when there is enough financial aide.

Speaking to MzGee in an interview, Dentaa debunked the assertion that Ghanaian music does not cross borders as compared to Nigerian music.

She stated that Ghana music is doing extremely well outside the country but can do a lot better if there’s the needed support.

“Ghana Music is doing very well out there. Obviously, Nigeria is a bigger market and there’s money pumped to the Nigerian music scene whereas in Ghana the artistes don’t get that much support and that’s why you’d probably here more of the Nigerian music out there,.

“Davido was in the O2 Arena, he sold out and that went viral. Shatta Wale also went there it was sold out too but because they have a larger population, they made more noise”

“We need investors. We need people to invest to the music scene. We have Sarkodie, Stonebwoy, Efya, King Promise and all of these top artiste that are doing well just need a push,” Dentaa stressed.
