Award winning Ghanaian music star, King Promise has disclosed that he came up with the idea of hit song, ‘Ayeeko’ to Medikal.
The ‘Bra’ hitmaker indicated that he composed the song and wrote his part first before sending it to Medikal to complete it with his rap.
Born Gregory Bortey Newman, King Promise told MzGee in an interview on TV3’s New Day that it was his idea to bring up ‘Ayeeko’.
” I wrote the lyrics of Ayeeko but he wrote his rap. I had the idea of the song and pitched it to him. We’ve always wanted to work together but Medikal has been busy and so have I. So when I wrote ‘Ayeeko’, I called him and told him I got the right song and he asked that I send it to him. He killed his part and that was it.”
On how the song eventually become Medikal’s song, the 25 year old singer explained that: ” Even if we were in the studio, I would’ve been the one who would have brought the idea or he may start so its the same thing.”
The multiple award winning music star who is currently promoting his new single titled, ‘Sisa’ has written songs for stars including Adina, Efia, among others.
