
Veteran Ghanaian actress, Irene Opare has debunked claims that she has taken a break from acting.
The 53 year old thespian indicated that her absence from the screen is due to challenging script.
In a conversation with MzGee, she stated that she will accept a role only when the script is good enough and suits her character.
“I haven’t taken a break. I’m waiting for a very good and challenging script and I’ll play the role,” The “Clean Mama” explained.
Asked if she hasn’t gotten any challenging script in recent times, she said, “Not yet. I’m still waiting. Anyone who knows Irene Opare knows that people write scripts with me in mind. Those are the roles I want to play.
On what type of roles she prefers, she stated, “Roles that when I’m in character, you know this is Irene’s role and that’s it. Most people who have watched me know the kind of role I play. I play tough roles”
She also responded to the rumours that her brother, William Opare had died.
According to her, the news came as a devastating blow to the whole family.
She however further stated that she had forgiven the person who had started the unfortunate rumour adding that “my brother is very well and kicking”.
