
Ghanaian Gospel singer, Celestine Donkor has disclosed that she lost hope of winning an award due to past disappointments.
The “Agbebolo” hitmaker who picked up the award as Ghana’s Gospel Artist of the Year 2019 noted that she was not expecting to win the award.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with MzGee on 3FM’s Showbuzz, Celestine explained that picking up 4 awards at the National Gospel Music Awards came as a huge surprise to her.
” Sincerely, I have not really had a big eye for awards because many times in the past, it comes up and I go home empty handed so I was not really into it. So this came as a really big surprise for me.” She stated
The gospel musician also admitted that her hit song, “Agbebolo” has opened doors for her including international gigs.
Celestine Donkor bagged four awards, including Song of the Year and Album of the Year, to emerge tops at the National Gospel Music Awards Night held on Saturday in Kumasi.
