
Grammy nominated reggae artiste, Rocky Dawuni has said he had paved the way for reggae/dancehall artiste, Stonebwoy to gain international recognition.
The ‘African Reggae Fever’ crooner stated that his enormous feats chalked internationally made it possible for Stonebwoy who is also a reggae/dancehall artiste to be named Best International act at the 2015 BET awards ceremony.
He made the comments in an interview on 3FM.
Rocky Dawuni who was the first Ghanaian to be nominated for the Grammy awards lost his category to Morgan Heritage.
He was the only non-Jamaican artiste in the running that year with his album ‘Branches of the Same Tree’.
He was up against some of the heavyweights of modern reggae including Morgan Heritage, Luciano, Jah Cure and Barrington Levy.
Dawuni has worked with international foundations including Product (RED), UNICEF, the Carter Center, and the UN Foundation.
