Sultry Ghanaian singer, Wendy Shay has disclosed she used to buy mobile phones on credit in defence of her controversial comment.
The ‘Uber Driver’ hitmaker explained that she endured severe hardship in the past hence her ability to be able to afford an iPhone among other gadgets was a big deal to her.
Wendy Shay who is one of the most criticized Ghanaian celebrities in recent times once again came under the radar of Ghanaians over an interview she granted on TV Africa.
In answering a question on what she has gained since signing onto Rufftown records, Wendy mentioned several gadgets as some of the things she has achieved.
But in a conversation with MzGee, the Rufftown records front runner explained that her critics don’t know her story and how far she has come.
” Even though I was working as a nurse, whenever I wanted to buy a phone of my choice I had to get it on credit because I didn’t have money to get what I wanted,” Ms Shay said.
“I would’t say buying a phone is an achievement but it has always being my dream to be able to afford what I want. People don’t understand where I’m coming from and what it means for me to be able to afford all the things I can have now.” she added
