Ghanaian singer, Kidi has said he was unable to show off his son earlier because he was afraid of being judged by Ghanaians.
The Lynx Entertainment signee explained that he kept his 3 year old son away from public eye due to his fear of criticism.
Kidi shocked his followers when he shared a cute photo of his son on Instagram with the caption: “Happy birthday to my Mini-Me. Young Sugar. 3 years on and you’ve brought me nothing but happiness and blessings. I bless the day you came into my life. Daddy loves you to the moon and back.”
Speaking to MzGee in an interview on Showbuzz on 3FM, the ‘Thunder’ hitmaker indicated that he welcomed his son before tasting fame.
” I had him way before the fame and everything so I decided that this is something I wasn’t ready to share to everybody yet so I’ll keep it on the low.” He stated
Born Dennis Nana Dwamena, the former MTN hitmaker winner noted that he finally decided to show off his son because he is growing now.
“I decided to share him on his 3rd birthday because we are all growing and people’s minds are maturing. I was actually scared to share it earlier because of how I know my fellow Ghanaians are. Africans in General, we are very judgmental and I didn’t know how people were going to take the news so I decided that until I’m mentally ready, I’m just keeping it to myself.”
He indicated that his decision was not based on the fact that he thought the news would affect his career as a musician especially with his massive female fanbase.
