Ghana based Nigerian afro beats star, Mr Eazi has disclosed he earned a $1000 for his first ever feature.
According to the African music star, that payment totally convinced him to take up music full time.
In an interview on Sway Universe show in the U.S, the ‘Supernova’ hitmaker said a U.S based artiste had reached out to him via Twitter to ask for a feature and offered to pay him $1000.
The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) graduate said that very offer was the defining moment for him.
” I did serial businesses during my university days and failed at many of them so music was like my getaway. Music was the only time I wasn’t thinking about the business and its failures and success.
” I wanted to be a billionaire and I didn’t think music could make me that so I wanted it to stay a hobby until I moved back to Nigeria and started another business. So one day a kid in New York hit me up on Twitter and said he wanted a verse and would pay a $1000. And that was when it started,” he explained
Mr Eazi also stated that he started his music career by booking artistes for shows and throwing parties during his University days.
