Movie director, Ola Michaels has said he was pleasantly surprised artistes came out to support rapper, Obrafuor instead of Shatta Wale.
The entertainment critic explained that because Obrafuor’s concert was a free concert hence no artiste was paid to perform but they defied when they could have performed at the Reign Concert which was on the same night.
In a conversation with MzGee on ‘The Gist’, Ola Micheal who was at the concert said artistes especially rappers came out in their numbers to support the legendary rapper.
” The artistes who came out showed a lot of love to Obrafuor because on that same night there was the Reign Concert so when the organizers where putting everything together, I was worried about having these two shows on the same night meant artistes won’t show up.
” But from the performances you could see that everyone who came out did so wholeheartedly to support a legend and that was beautiful.
I was really surprised because I thought they won’t come out. I was expecting them to be at the Reign concert not there because nobody got paid not even a coin or transportation. But they came there out of love.”
On Saturday October 19, Obrafour returned to his former neighborhood when he staged his Back to Taifa concert.
The Rap Sofo who went back to his roots was supported by other artistes such as Paa Dogo, TeePhlow, Obibini, Ras Kuuku, D Cryme, Keche, Guru, Kwaw Kese, Cabum, Queen Haizel, Tinny and Kofi Bee.
