
RuffTown Records signee and award-winning artist Wendy Shay has substantiated her claims of being the Queen of Ghana which according to her was conferred on her by her fans.
In an interview with MzGee on 3 FM, she testified that she has contributed her quota to the growth of the creative sector regardless of the backlashes she has been subjected to by the public.
She clarified that she respects all female artists in the industry and her claiming to be the Queen of Ghana music is not a ploy to disrespect them citing that she has a very close relationship with most female artists especially Efya whom she described as a legend.
“I will never disrespect any female artiste, I have a close relationship with them especially Efya. She is someone I chill with, she is a legend and I respect her so much. I am even a fan of hers.” She uttered
She, however, described the music industry as one which does not favor female artists adding that it is very hard for a female artist to break into the limelight for which she had made it a duty to assist any female artist in the industry.
“I love to support women especially because it is very tough as a woman to break it into the industry. They are all my people, looking at what I’ve been through I feel like I have to give them my all, and whoever I make a song with I take it as mine.” She clarified.
