
Award winning dancehall artiste, Shatta Wale has said he’s the next artiste to make the mark made by the legendary Osibisa group.
The ‘Gringo’ hitmaker emphatically stated that he will achieve what most musicians have tried but failed at.
Putting across his point in a Facebook post, Shatta Wale indicated that he is working behind the scene to reach his target.
“Ghanaian musician have all tried but the next person to make that Osibisa mark is SHATTA WALE ..Give the youth a chance ..Don’t fight it cuz what is about to happen is not just talking but the action ..Things deh go on oooo just like the great Bob Marley said “who feels it knows it “ 1 Ghana 1 people , 1 Love”. he posted
The Osibisa band was formed in the United Kingdom in 1969 by three Ghanaian musicians (Teddy Osei, Sol Amarfio and Mac Tontoh), together with three colleagues from the Caribbean (Wendel Richardson, Spartacus R and Robert Bailey) and one from Nigeria (Loughty Lasisi Amao).
The band was the first African band to reach best-selling singles and albums in the pop charts with classic hit albums including ‘Osibisa’, ‘Woyaya ’,’Heads’, ‘Superfly’, ‘Happy Children’, ‘Osibirock’, ‘Welcome Home’, ‘Ojah Awake’ and ‘Osee Yee’.
