Media Personality, Vanessa Gyan has said she has not rode on the success of her late father, Kiki Gyan to become relevant.
The mother of one indicated that she has built her own wave to remain relevant in the entertainment industry.
Vanessa Gyan made the comments when she appeared on the Gee Spot show with MzGee.
Asked by host MzGee how she felt when she is introduced as Kiki Gyan’s daughter, Vanessa said, “Oh its fine. It doesn’t take away my shine. I think I’ve built my own, I’ve never stood on his name for my relevance or my continued relevance but its fine”.
“I miss him but I know I’m keeping his legacy alive and that’s what’s important”. she added
The former EIB network presenter who spoke on the topic: “How far will you go to stay relevant” explained that she barely sees herself as celebrity.
She stressed, “I don’t see my self as famous or a celebrity. I know I would have been known regardless because of my father (Kiki Gyan) but I don’t live a celebrity lifestyle”.
