Dancehall Artiste, Shatta Wale is threatening to form a political party to oppose the current government if it nominates former President of the Creative Arts Council,  Mark Okraku Mantey as the Deputy Minister to the creative arts ministry.

There has been a massive campaign from insiders in the industry for the president to appoint Mr. Okraku Mantey  as deputy minister, this however has been met with some opposition from the likes of Ola Michaels.

Well, many more are breaking ranks with their colleagues and joining hands with those opposing this rally behind Hitz fm’s Programmes Manager, the latest to wade into the matter is Shatta Wale.

Speaking in a livestream on Facebook, Shatta Wale who has worked with Mr. Okraku Mantey before insists he is just not the right person for the job.

“If I hear that Okraku Mantey has been nominated as Deputy Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister, I would be forced to form a political party which will oppose the current government because Mark Okraku has no knowledge which will help push the industry forward…let Mark Okraku come and tell us the kind of change he has brought to the Creative industry all these years he has been there?…”

He further indicated his resolve to mount a mass-based opposition to the government demanding their due if Okraku Mantey is appointed.

If Okraku Mantey is appointed as Deputy Minister for the Creative Arts, I will pick a form, form a party and I will rise with the youth to fight for what is due us”.
