Former President of the Musician Union of Ghana MUSIGA, Bice Osei Kufour popularly known as Obour has dismissed claims that he instigated Shatta Wale to attack Mark Okraku Mantey’s eligibility to be appointed deputy tourism minister.
Shatta Wale in a livestream on facebook threatened to form a political party to oppose the current government if it nominates the former President of the Creative Arts Council as the Deputy Minister to the creative arts ministry.
This follows the massive campaign from insiders in the industry for the president to appoint Mr. Okraku Mantey as deputy minister, this however has been met with some opposition from the likes of Ola Michaels.
Thatnotwithstanding, others are breaking ranks with their colleagues in the sector and joining hands with those opposing this rally behind Hitz fm’s Programmes Manager, the latest being Shatta Wale.
Well, in a post on Facebook, Obour categorically stated that “For the records, my visit to Shatta Wale was to discuss issues of general good for our industry and as a big brother I used the opportunity to advice him and paint a bigger picture for him on what our industry stands to benefit should a stake holder like Mark get the nod of the President to become a minister or deputy minister.”
He queried “Why people are so negative’ minded? Why not think positive for once?” Insisting “The negative energy is just too much”.
He further declared his support for Mr. Okraku Mantey if he is nominated:
“Mark is already aware of my position as far as leadership for our industry is concerned and I have informed him long ago that I will accompany him to vetting and support him should His Excellency, the President nominate him.“
