Ghanaian music producer, Guilty Beatz has disclosed that Nigerian afrobeats star, Mr Eazi convinced him to feature One Corner crooner, Patapaa on his hit single, Akwaaba.
According to him, the song originally featured only rapper, Pappy Kojo but Mr Eazi later joined.
He told MzGee in a conversation on ‘The Gist’that Mr Eazi suggested they added Patapaa which he agreed to because he knew it will take fans by surprise.
” It started with Pappy Kojo because the whole of 2017 I was recording with him so he did his verse on one of the songs but it was a very slow song and we didn’t have plans for that song at the time so I took out the verse and created a beat around the vocal,” He stated
” So I did a little video to promote the song. It was Meister (Mr Eazi’s manager) dancing to only the instrumental and I put it on Twitter. So the video started trending then Mr Eazi saw it and told me he wanted to be on it.
“I later sent him the song and the next day, he had already done his part and he said let’s put Patapaa and I said okay because it was going to be a big surprise for peopke to hear a song with Pappy, Mr Eazi and Pataapa on.”
Guilty Beatz also debunked claims that there was no official video to the song because the ‘One Corner’ hitmaker demanded money to shoot video.
