Award-winning Ghanaian Highlife artiste, Kuami Eugene has said the influx of music fanbases in Ghana has caused divisiveness in the industry.

The ‘Rockstar’ explained that most fans who are loyal to certain artistes refuse to attend shows of other musicians because the feel it will be a betrayal to their favorite artiste.

Speaking to MzGee on 3FM 92.7’s ShowBuzz, the ‘Obiaato’ crooner explained that this makes it hard to do shows in Ghana because fans of Sarkodie, Shatta Wale, Stonebwoy and Samini will only attend concerts by their favourites and not show support to all of them.

“The army and movements are too many in this country. Its just too much. Sometimes I don’t even get it. Everybody wants to create a group of his or her own. So when there’s a show, the fans feel like they must go to where they are affiliated to and none else.” He lamented

The Lynx Entertainment signee also argued that the Nigerian music industry is stronger due to the absence of such movements and armies.

“Its not like that in Nigeria. Davido doesnt have Davido Nation or Wizkid movement. We are not may but we have divided ourselves into movements and armies. So if someone is doing a show, it takes a lot to get everyone to go and support.” He added
