Kwaw Kese says his colleagues who fell for the “Dr UN” awards are not to be blamed. According to the rapper, these artistes are always working hard, hence, they are quick to pick awards that acknowledge their work.
“Some of my colleagues, they think the only way you can be outstanding is winning awards,” Kwaw Kese added.
On Friday, August 28, one Dr Owusu Fordjour organised an award show titled the ‘Global Blueprint Excellence Award’ in Accra at the Alisa Hotel.
The award he had alleged was late UN Chief scribe, Kofi Annan foundation’s  Initiative backed by the international body rewarding  celebrated people who had engaged in one humanitarian act or another.
Some of the celebrities who received the awards include D-Black, Sarkodie, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ghana, Professor Ebenezer Oduro Owusu, Chairman Wontumi and others.
However, after investigations by some journalist and Twitter users it emerged that the award scheme had nothing to do with the UN or Kofi Annan.
Reacting to this recent development, Kwaw Kese told MzGee that the recipients should have investigated mr. Fordjour, now Dr UN, and his award scheme before accepting his invitation.
“Dr UN has pulled the biggest scam in the country,” he added.
He urged his colleagues to be cautious next time some opportunities like these came their way adding “all that glitters is not gold“.
