Rapper Teephlow has said he was confronted by his Imam over an outfit he wore to take photos after his VGMA win.
Born Lukeman Ekow Baidoo, Teephlow who is a practicing Muslim explained that separating his art from religion has been a herculean task.
Teephlow made this comment when he appeared on Gee Spot on Joy Prime with MzGee.
Speaking on the topic effects of Showbiz on religion, the ‘Forgive’ hitmaker asserted that the Islamic religion is quiet strict.
“I’ll say its quiet strict. I’ve had so many confrontations. The last confrontation I had was after I did a photoshoot after winning the VGMA award to thank the fans and I had a jacket on with nothing underneath just chains on. I had my Imam confront my brother that I shouldn’t do something like that. So Islam wise, I believe it’s very strict to some extent”
He added that despite all the boundaries that comes with the religion, he believes his talent was given to him by God to explore.
