Actor Prince Yawson, popularly known as Waakye has stated despite being an ordained pastor, he will continue acting.

In an interview with MzGee, he makes known his plans of staging a comeback soon. He  described acting as a career which is honourable and thus there is no valid reason why he should retire due to his pastoral calling.

“Acting is not robbery. Most times, people say you shouldn’t be acting [because I’m into theology] but then, it is the job I do [for a living].”

With his mind made up, he further revealed he is in a dilemma as to continuing with his signature comic roles or otherwise.

“I’m thinking about it whether I should fool [play comic roles] but then if I’m still going to do it, it wouldn’t mean a pastor is fooling or I’ve thrown away the calling of God to do a different thing because it is what puts food on the table for me.”

Waakye is a household name in the Ghanaian entertainment circle having starred in movies such as Diabolo, Man Woman, Yaa Asantewaa, the ever-popular Obra and the Chokor Trotroseries among other top productions in the past. He currently holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Theology from the My Life Theology University, a US-based theologian school with an affiliate in Accra, Ghana.
