Former Ghanaian songstress turned business executive, Wilhelmina Habiba Abu Andani Micheals widely known as Mimi Andani has said no one can take glory of being part of her success story.

According to the Director of the Golden Movie Awards, she owes her success to herself alone.

She indicated that people who had nothing to do with her transformation from a musician to a business executive tried to tap into the glory.

In a conversation with MzGee, she stated that there’s no way she will allow that to happen.

Her comment was in reference to the lack of government support for the annual Golden Movie Awards which she organizes with her husband.

Speaking on ‘The Gist’, Mimi indicated that her outfit is done chasing the government for support and will not allow them to tap into the organizations glory when the scheme gets bigger.

“I’ll not wait for anyone to come and take my glory. Because if as I was growing up and I changed my brand from a musician to whatever I am now there where people who wanted to tap into it and said ooh I did this. No, you didn’t do anything. I did it myself. I won’t allow anyone to come in now cos’ they see glory. When there was no glory, you should have been there,”

She added that, “And that’s the same story that’s going to be with Golden Movie Awards. When we get to a point when you want to tap into it that we are Ghanaians, that’s when you see us somewhere else because you never supported us”.

Mimi also defended the decision by the award organizers to honor Movie producers, Abdul Salam Mumuni and Roger Quartey as well as actors Jackie Appiah, Nadia Buari and Van Vicker.
