The Spokesperson of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMAs) board, Francis Doku has said the ban imposed on embattled dancehall artistes, Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy does not stop them from attending the event.According to him, the two can attend the show only as fans and not artistes.Speaking on TV3’s The Key Points, Mr. Doku explained that the organizers will not prevent them from attending the show if they so desire.
He added that the ban is a temporary one and can be lifted at any point depending on the conduct of both parties.
Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy were engaged in a scuffle at the Accra International Conference Center few weeks ago that nearly marred the 20th edition of the VGMA.
The two have since been arrested and granted bail of ¢50,000 with one surety each and the case has been adjourned to June 20.
In addition, the VGMA board at a press conference announced that the two had been stripped off awards won this year.
