Ghanaian dancehall artiste, Charles Nii Armah Mensah, popularly known as Shatta Wale has cleared the air on the widespread claims that he was attacked in Kumasi during his recent tour there.
The leader of the Shatta Movement Family has been in the Ashanti region as part of his Kumerica Invasion Project, an initiative channeled at uplifting the entertainment industry in the region by supporting and collaborating with the local artists.
News went viral that he had been attacked at Krofofrom, a suburb of Kumasi. He is however refuting those claims.
“I was not attacked by the fans, they had longed to see me for a long time. They didn’t know the car I was in so they made every effort to see me. It was basically my team, the ushers, cameramen and the security. The street loves me and would not attack me” he said on Hitz fm.
The Bojor hitmaker then advised bloggers to be very circumspect in their reportage.
“The bloggers and some media men weren’t circumspect about the broadcast on this issue, they sought create a negative impression that everything didn’t go as planned. We are in the same industry together and we must not tarnish any image of streets and my brand.”
