Renowned recording engineer and record producer, Zapp Mallet says it is unfortunate that Jamaican star Popcaan was intrigued by the Shatta and Samini’s twitter banter and not their songs.
Days ago, the two dancehall giants engaged in exchange of words on twitter, an act that got Jamaican star Popcaan entertained. He tweeted, “My entertainment is from ghana this morning SM VS HIGHGRADE?? Chubble.”
The reaction from Popcaan irked the revered producer who believed the image of the industry had been soiled by the constant war of words between the musicians. He took to social media to lament.
“Your beefs are more engaging than your music. Are you a butcher or an artist?” Me just throw me corn, me na call no fowl” Zapp posted
Shedding light on this post in a conversation with MzGee, Zapp said it was time for Ghanaian musicians to think thoroughly about their conduct and it repercussions on the industry.
“Somebody made a statement, he said he was enjoying some beef from here and i am like is that all you can he can enjoy, he is not enjoying our music? He enjoying the beef rather our artistes are portraying? …It doesn’t speak well of us”. Zapp indicated.
He added “As a creative person, this hit me so well. I was like oh God! Is all we are getting to be known for? So we need to just think. I wrote it (post) there for people to just think, i didn’t write to insult”.
