The Greater Accra Regional Security Council (REGSEC) has reviewed “its earlier directive on the ban on all beach operations, issued on Friday, 24th December 2021 during the celebration of the Christmas and New Year festivities”.
Consequently, the ban on all operations of beaches in the region has been lifted with
immediate effect under the following conditions:
1. Entry to the beaches shall be allowed for only persons who show proof of
vaccination
2. The Ghana Health Service shall mount Vaccination points at all beach facilities to
provide vaccination for persons who are not vaccinated before entry
3. Beach operators shall ensure strict adherence to all COVID-19 safety protocols
4. As much as possible, operators shall ensure that entry points are separated from
exit points to avoid overcrowding
The REGSEC statement signed by the Regional Minister Henry Quartey asked Operators of beaches to ensure that they collaborate with the Ghana Health
Service, the Security and Intelligence Agencies led by the Ghana Police Service, and their respective Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies to ensure strict
adherence and enforcement of this directive.

It is unclear what is prompting the relaxation of the directives despite the hike in covid cases!
