Celebrated Ghanaian actress, Nadia Buari has said she deserved the honorary award given to her by the organizers of the Golden Movie Awards Africa.
The mother of four stated that she has contributed her quota to the growth of the Ghanaian movie industry hence deserved the honorary award.
Nadia Buari was among five movie personalities including Jackie Appiah, Van Vicker, Abdul Salam Mumuni and Roger Quartey who were honoured for their contribution to the movie industry at the fifth edition of the Golden Movie Awards Africa.
Critics have questioned the rationale behind honouring the young talents instead of the old and veteran movie makers.
But the ‘Beyonce’ star actress in reaction told MzGee in an interview that she has worked hard to put Ghana on the international scene.
” To be honest, I’m not in a position to state whether I deserve it but the organizers honoured me and I’m just a recipient and I’m just humbled. So as to whether I deserved it or not, I have worked hard over the years,” she said.
Nadia added that: “I’m working hard and still putting Ghana on the international map, so I think I do deserve it, but I’m grateful for the organizers for acknowledging me,” she added.
The stunning actress also welcomed the idea of a ‘Walk of Fame’ arena for Ghanaian movie stars.
