Kofi Robert, a former handler of ‘Beast Of No Nation’ teen actor, Emmanuel Adom Quaye popularly known as Strika has said his aim was to see the child star succeed in life.
According to Mr. Robert, he had intended to handle the money the teen actor made until he was 21 which was old enough for Strika to be responsible with money.
Kofi Robert told this to MzGee after he handed over an amount of ¢40,093.22 to Strika in the presence of his family at the Accra Regional Police Command.
He explained that he was left in complete awe after he learnt of the allegations leveled against him by Strika.
He stated that he had met up with the teen actor on May 20, 2019 to withdraw ¢1,000 for him after Strika complained he needed money.
” Honestly, I was taken by surprise when this thing happened. I don’t watch TV so I was alerted by friends that Emma had been on air making certain statements and I was surprised. My understanding was that he needed money and whenever he needs money, he always calls me, we meet at the Osu Barclays bank and I withdraw the money for him,” he told MzGee
” He has direct access to me. He always calls me. The last time I saw him was just on May 20, it was a very rainy day and we met at the bank. He even came with a friend and I gave him money for his upkeep. So I was hoping that money will last him a while but I was surprised because I was hoping he’ll mange that money for a while,”.
Mr. Roberts explained that he had dreams of seeing Strika become successful hence the reason for holding on to his money.
” In my heart of hearts, I wish nothing but the best for him. I wish that the dream I had for him will materialize. I want him to be in a position whereby he’s 21, he’s doing a vocation even if he doesn’t want to go to school but he’s doing something positive with his life.
“The main purpose for holding on to his money was because I wanted him to be so successful that reporters would see him driving a car or he’ll have a house”. he added
