The wife of Ghanaian of actor and politician John Dumelo, Gifty Mawunya Dumelo has taken to her Instagram handle to encourage her husband to keep his head high and forge ahead in life after failing to wrestle the Ayawaso West Wuogon parliamentary seat from incumbent Lydia Alhassan.
She eulogized her husband for making history, as a first-timer, in an NPP constituency and yet losing by a small margin.

The actor cum politician John Dumelo, who contested on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress, had 37,778 votes out of 77, 604 from the 137 polling stations, a very close margin to the incumbent Lydia Alhassan who retained her seat with 39,851 votes on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party.
